What kind of clients do you work with?

I work with three groups: founders and CEOs of scale-up technology businesses, boards and chairs of mid-market companies navigating AI and technology change, and investors who need independent diligence or post-deal support.

What does an AI strategy engagement actually look like?

Accepted Answer

A typical engagement runs six to twelve weeks. We start with a diagnostic of where the business is today, agree a portfolio of prioritised use cases, define the operating model and governance, and finish with a sequenced plan the executive team can act on. I stay involved as needed after that.

Are you available for non-executive director roles?

Accepted Answer

Yes — selectively. I take a small number of board seats per year, usually with growth-stage technology, SaaS or financial services businesses where my AI and scale-up experience is directly useful. I prefer chairs and founders who actively want independent challenge.

Do you work with early-stage startups?

Occasionally, on an advisory basis rather than as a board member. For pre-Series A companies, lighter-touch advisory tends to be more useful than a formal board seat.

Most of my work sits in Group of Companies, Education, Fintech, Gaming, Government and SaaS. That said, once I understand the problem, the industry doesn't matter — we're solving problems together and I can work in any sector where the challenge is real.

I'm an operator who has run the play. Engagements are senior-led, small-team, and focused on a clear set of decisions — not slideware. Clients hire me when they want a partner who has felt the weight of the decisions they're about to make.

It depends. The majority of the work is done directly with me — you'll be dealing with me throughout. For enterprise-level development and specialised expertise, I may bring in the 9H Digital team where it adds real value.

Nothing leaks. Everything we discuss remains strictly private and is never disclosed to anyone — including other clients. I treat every engagement with complete discretion, and I do not share proprietary information, strategies or operational details between businesses under any circumstances. Your confidence is absolute.
